Homemade Chicken Chow Mein
Ingredients
Chow mein (Y & Y 3 minute chow mein)
Chicken breast (1 BIG chicken breast was used)
1 Carrot
Cabbage
Green Onion
Fresh Garlic (frozen garlic cubes, even garlic powder works fine)
Corn Starch
Dark Soy Sauce
Soy Sauce
Hoison Sauce
Oyster Sauce
White Pepper
Chili Powder
Rice wine vinegar
White Sugar
Chili Flakes
Lemon Juice
Chili Oil
Directions
- Thin slice chicken breast, cabbage, carrots, garlic, and diced green onion
- Marine Chicken with grated garlic, dark soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar, corn starch (1 tbsp used), white pepper, chili powder, and lemon juice.
- Pan-fry marinated chicken in chili oil.
- To make sauce add to a bowl 3 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 2 tbsp white sugar, 2 tbsp water, 1 tsp corn starch slurry, and chili flakes
- In another pot saute veggies in oil: Cabbage, Carrot, Green Onion, and Garlic
- Once vegetables are completely saluted add chow mein noodles and chicken to the pot and mix everything
- Pour in the sauce, stir the noodles, and cook down the sauce on medium heat for 5 minutes.
