Homemade Crispy McChicken Sandwich
Ingredients
Burger buns
300-400g ground chicken
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Paprika to taste
Dried garlic to taste
8 tbsp all-purpose flour
3-4 tbsp mayonnaise
~50 ml water
1/3 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Fresh lettuce leaves
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- Prepare the buns
- Slice the burger buns lengthwise. Place them on a well-heated skillet until golden and crispy.
- Make the patties
- Form the ground chicken into patties. Place the patties in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare the coatings
- For the dry breading: In a bowl, combine 4 tbsp of flour with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- For the batter: In a separate bowl, combine 4 tbsp of flour with salt, pepper, and water (about 50 ml). Mix until the batter reaches a consistency similar to thick sour cream.
- Bread the patties
- Take the frozen patties and dip them first in the dry breading, then into the batter.
- Fry the patties
- Heat a large amount of vegetable oil in a skillet. Fry the breaded patties until golden brown and crispy.
- Prepare the lettuce
- Slice the lettuce leaves.
- Make the sauce
- In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, pepper, and dried garlic.
- Assemble the burgers
- Place a bun half on the bottom, spread with sauce, add a fried chicken patty, top with lettuce, add more sauce, and cover with the other half of the bun.
Notes
- For an extra crunch, double dip the patties in the dry breading and batter before frying.
