Homemade Crispy Potatoes Balls

Ingredients

  • 4-5 medium potatoes

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • Salt to taste

  • Pepper to taste

  • Parsley to taste

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Directions

  • Prepare the potatoes
  • Peel the potatoes and boil them in water until soft. Check for doneness by poking them with a fork; if it’s tender, it’s ready.
  • Mash the potatoes
  • Once boiled and drained, mash the potatoes in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
  • Prepare the batter
  • Add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to the mashed potatoes and mix well to get a crispy texture.
  • Shape the potato balls
  • Form the seasoned mashed potatoes into small, bite-sized balls.
  • Heat the oil
  • In a deep fryer or pan, heat the oil to 350°F.
  • Fry the potato balls
  • Carefully place the formed potato balls into the hot oil. Fry them until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain and serve
  • Remove the potato balls from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, lightly coat the potato balls with cornstarch again before frying.
