This indulgent red velvet cake is taken to the next level with a luscious melted Hershey’s Cookies & Cream chocolate topping. The rich, moist red velvet cake mixed with the creamy and slightly crunchy chocolate topping is pure heaven. Whether it be a special occasion or just satisfying that sweet craving, this dessert is sure to impress.
The secret to simplicity in this recipe is the usage of the boxed red velvet cake mix; it saves a lot of time without compromising on flavor. But let’s be real, the star of the show here has to be those Hershey’s Cookies & Cream chocolate bars melting into a dreamy, velvety top. It is so easy and yet looks and tastes like store-bought from a bakery!

Homemade Red Velvet Cake w/ Cookies & Cream Hershey
Ingredients
1 box of red velvet cake mix
6 Hershey’s cookies and cream chocolate bars
Directions
- Follow the instructions on the red velvet cake mix box to prepare the batter. This usually involves mixing the cake mix with eggs, oil, and water.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
- Bake the cake according to the package instructions, usually at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately place the 6 Hershey’s chocolate bars on top of the hot cake.
- Cover the cake with foil to trap the heat and allow the chocolate bars to melt completely (this should take about 5-10 minutes).
- After the chocolate has melted, use a spatula or the back of a spoon to evenly spread the melted chocolate over the top of the cake.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your delicious red velvet cake with a rich, melted chocolate topping!
